Swim
Comments: I was satisfied with the swim; I thought my performance was pretty good. What would you do differently?: I don't think I would have changed anything. Transition 1
Comments: dried off after the swim but my kit did not want to go on my wet skin. What would you do differently?: would have been nice to have a full zip jersey instead of the 3/4 zip. Bike
Comments: I drank a lot but still felt a little on the dehydrated side by the end of the bike. What would you do differently?: I had two bottles in my rear cages. Next time I will leave one open so I can grab a fresh bottle at the aid station for the rear and one to pour in the front. Transition 2
Comments: had to sit down and hydrate a little in T2. It was getting very hot and I needed a little break so recover. Had three cups of water and took my time changing into my tri-shorts and tri-top for the run. What would you do differently?: nothing I can think of. Run
Comments: Ran majority of the marathon, with the exception being around miles 17-20 with stomach issues. What would you do differently?: Run more in training, though I'm not sure it would have helped me prepare any better. Post race
Warm down: A volunteer walked me through the finisher area, I had some water, got some cool swag and got pictures taken. My cousin and the rest of the family met me at the finish line which was a nice surprise. Then headed over to the KICC for pizza, chocolate milk, and a massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Maybe do longer brick runs after the long rides. That and more long rides, but this was my first Ironman so I have been building my base for this race. Event comments: Great race, very well organized, and it seemed like there were more volunteers than athletes. WTC did an outstanding job. Last updated: 2012-01-04 12:00 AM

Had a bagel with peanut butter and a banana. went to transition and put air in my tires and filled my bottles. Walked about a mile to the end of the swim start line.
some light stretching, not to mention the mile+ walk to the end of the swim start line
