Swim
Comments: I'm stuck in a plateau, I can't seem to get any faster! I was also able to kick some guy in the face who was trying to run over me. What would you do differently?: I'm not sure if I would do anything differently. I beat my goal time by almost 2:00. Transition 1
Comments: Some guy almost took me out after the mount line. He apperantly hadn't practiced the whole riding with feet on top of shoes bit. What would you do differently?: Run that guy over! Bike
Comments: It seemed that the guys who passed me on the bike simply blew by me and there was no chance to catch them. Other than those freaks I felt really strong and didn't get passed much. I also felt as if I could ride forever. What would you do differently?: Keep training, I've made big improvements over last year. Transition 2
Comments: I wasn't very fond of the Stinger Transition System. It was a little more difficult to get the wheel in right and it scratched my rear wheel. My poor helpless Zipp. :( What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: Still my slowest event and it was by a good sized margin. I was surpised how fast I was because it felt a lot slower. Not to mention the old fogies who kept passing me. I also got a few blisters on my feet during the last two miles. Ouch! What would you do differently?: Be patient, try not to let it get me down, and keep training. Post race
Warm down: BEER! I paid for this on Sunday too. I didn't eat any protien after the race except for a dry burger and I am still really sore. Recovery food is a must. What limited your ability to perform faster: I've only been training for this stuff for a year and for my first Oly I feel pretty good about it. With my drive and ability to avoid injury I should be pretty fast next year! Event comments: The races here in Colorado know how to put on a post race activity. This one was kinda lame. Got up at 4:00am, packed up my stuff and headed to Mark's campsite. We had a couple beers (just kidding). Shortly after getting there we set off for the transition area. I set up my area and put on my headphones.
Short run with Mark and Adam. The legs felt pretty good in spite of feeling like crap all week. I was able to get in a short swim before the race too. It was like bath water.
