Total Time = 2h 08m 23s
Overall Rank = 579/601
Age Group = 50-54
Age Group Rank = 34/34
Pre-race routine:

So unprepared on so many levels, but just out to have a good time.
Event warmup:

Rode from hotel to race site, took pics, waited around - race delayed 30 minutes because timing company forgot to bring the chips.
Swim
  • 15m 21s
  • 598 yards
  • 02m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was not as bad as I imagined after seeing the chop - didn't get seasick which was a bonus. had to stop several times - timing chip fell off (almost, I caught it), goggles leaking like crazy.
What would you do differently?:

Remember I am in a race, several times I kept climbing up on people's feet then slowing down so as not to disturb them. Finally got into my head to pass!
Transition 1
  • 02m 37s
Comments:

I decided to wear swimsuit bottom them pull on my new running skirt from my friend's company after swim. It was hard to get it on with wet skin, shorts kept sticking. Was a bit discombobulated in general and way in the back so LOOOONG run out of transition. Also had to grab some nutrition because I was hungry after delay
What would you do differently?:

not try new outfits on race day
Bike
  • 1h 02m 55s
  • 15.4 miles
  • 14.69 mile/hr
Comments:

Headwind coming back stronger than tailwind going out. Got sideswiped by a truck crossing into bike lane, missed me by about 6 inches (could feel the breeze). Yelled out "JESUS CHRIST!" which was appropriate for a Sunday I suppose.
What would you do differently?:

Just didn't have it in my to push this year and got spooked by truck. Last year I had a rabbit - my friend Sheri. This year I was just feeling 'meh' about the whole thing. Was disappointed not to have the joy.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

Had forgotten to pre-tie my shoes. AND I was starving
Run
  • 45m 31s
  • 3.34 miles
  • 13m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

The run felt pretty good - not as hot as last year. Just tired and hungry, but I kept up a run/walk the whole way pretty steadily.
What would you do differently?:

train
Post race
Warm down:

Got some food, cheered my sister into finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training and mojo.

Event comments:

This is still a really fun race and the organizers do a great job. LOVE coming here with our big group and the party afterwards. Just not happy with my own attitude. I may be done with tri for awhile.
