Run
Comments: I went out hard to break the 25 minute barrier. I was at mile 1 in 7:20 but couldn't keep it up and faded a bit. What would you do differently?: Be able to run the whole 5k at 7:20 pace. That needs some work. Transition 1
Comments: Transition was decent, about the same as last year. I didn't bust myself on it though. It took some extra time to put on an a warm shirt and gloves. What would you do differently?: Not much. What I did went smootholy, I just could have hustled a bit more. Bike
Comments: Oakwoods Park roads suck. Bumping and banging all the way. Strong headwind all the way back on the loop. Felt like I was barely moving against the wind. My hamstrings were burning and it was so bumpy, i didn't want to go into the aero position. What would you do differently?: I took the bike pace very easy because of how bumpy it was. I could have pushed it a lot more. I was suprised my time was as good as it was considering the pace and the headwind on the way back. Transition 2
Comments: This was a good transition. I beat several people out that were in there before me, still I did not hustle. What would you do differently?: I could have been under a minute if I was trying. Also had to get rid of pants and long shirt from the cold bike ride, so that added time. Run
Comments: My legs felt better on this run than they did before the bike. This time was a little slower than I thought it was, but it was still ok. What would you do differently?: Find a way to get that time down, that's it. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Training was limited to go along with a hectic school schedule this winter. Really only got two good weeks of training in for this event Event comments: The bumpy bike course in Oakwoods park limited my enjoyment of this event, still I like it overall Last updated: 2006-05-06 12:00 AM
