Swim
Comments: Pretty good swim for me. Averaged 2min/100 yds. Did a couple of corkscrew turns that were perfect (Thanks Gary). All in all a very good swim. I am not fast, but good enough. What would you do differently?: Someday I may care to get faster. For now, I am content to survive at my current pace. Transition 1
Comments: Still a work in progress What would you do differently?: Just practice. But honestly, unlikely to get back more than 1-2 minutes here. Bike
Comments: Was a hillier course than I had anticipated. Some strong headwinds for the last 15 miles heading west. Had to pee the last 1 hour, but resisted peeing on myself in lieu of the Porta-Jon in T2. What would you do differently?: More time in the saddle. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Just plain HOT. I bragged the day before that I liked the heat, but 91 and humid totally sucked. I got a sharp pain in my left upper abdomen that felt like a perforated ulcer, but went away after I walked for a few minutes, so I doubt it was that. The wheels came off at the 1/2 way point when I started walking/jogging about 50/50. Given the heat, I did give as much as I had and had to lay down to collect myself after the finish. I felt awful, but accomplished. What would you do differently?: Well. More years of training and acclimating to heat will help. Post race
Warm down: Laid on the ground and resisted the urge to vomit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat. Event comments: Great event. Could use some better grub, but overall great. Would highly recommend it. Last updated: 2012-01-16 12:00 AM

Stayed at my in-laws as they were 5 min from the start. Up at 4:03 am and had coffee, PB on toast, and Gatorade.
Rode from the car to start (1 mile), jogged around the starting area, quick few min in the water
