Swim
Transition 1
Comments: Swimmer arrives and tells me she hasn't seen the runner so I set off not knowing if our race is already over. Bike
Comments: Very strong winds and a hilly course made for a nice ride out and a slow, hard ride back. 40 mins out, 54 back. Transition 2
Comments: As I enter T2 still not knowing what is happening I am releived to see the runner.........................with a piece of paper stuck to his chest and the number hand written on it. High five and off he goes. Run
Post race
Warm down: Went to watch runners and had coffee. Event comments: All in all I enjoyed myself though not sure if I will do the team thing again. Last updated: 2012-01-16 12:00 AM

It was a catalogue of disasters from the start. Lesley, the goirl who got the team togerther and organised everything, couldnt do it because of work commitments. She got her friend to do the run for her.
Compulsory Saturday bike rack so we (me, mrs and 7 month old) went up and stayed the night. With about an hour to go before transition closes I go to get race pack, with bike stickers in it, only to be told it has already been pickd up. Try ringing Leslie, who is a journalist covering the state elections, and get no answer. Keep trying and after 10 mins get through. She texts me the swimmers number and I ring her. A man answers who has no idea who I am or wtf is going on. I get a beep in my ear with the right number. Finally meet the swimmer (for the first time ever) and get to transition with 5 mins to spare.
Next morning I go down to meet the runner having already sent him a text to ring the swimmer and get his race number. He hasn't done this and her wave time is 15 minutes away. Text from swimmer saying she has to meet runner as she has his number. Text was sent 30 mins ago but only received now. Runner sets off to find info desk to see if he can still run anyway without number and I have to go into transition to prep myself and wait for the swimmer.
See above.
