Swim
Comments: Run to transition was longer this year than last year, I believe, making my swim time seem even worse than it was. Also, for some reason I wasn't doing a good job of focusing on my form and proper rotation. Took me almost half the way through to get into a better more normal rhythm. What would you do differently?: Navigate better. Seemed to have a little trouble staying where I wanted to on the 2nd leg of the triangle Transition 1
Comments: Did a good job of getting out of my wetsuit smoothly. Bike
Comments: Very disappointed that I didn't get my bike under an hour. That was a goal for this year. However, I feel I was a bit better at passing others than I have been in the past (willingness to go around rather than wimp out and not pass). What would you do differently?: Push harder, get better at hills. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Haven't been running since March because of Achilles issues, so no big surprise that I didn't have a good run. What would you do differently?: Run more (and not be injured). Post race
Warm down: Got a water and watermelon slice, yum! Then drank some more water, then an iced tea, and so it goes. I sweat a lot and am always super thirsty post-race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being afraid of pushing too hard on the bike and absolutely blowing up. I need to find out how hard I can push. Event comments: 432/523 finishers 111/166 females 24/36 AG 6/13 Athenas After the race I thought I was close to my swim and bike goals but once the results were posted I realized I didn't make either one. I was disappointed in that, although I did knock 4 minutes off of last year's time, which does make me happy. New PR for this race (3rd year racing this race), LOL. Already looking forward to beating these times next year! Very well-run, organized race for a great cause. Thanks to Chris and all the volunteers who made this a successful day!
