Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4 and fixed a bagel. Fed the furry kids and took Magnum out. Woke Tom and we left at 5. Ate a banana on the way.
Event warmup:

Really nothing. Walked from the car to my corral. Tom stopped at McDs and had hotcakes for breakfast. They looked really good! It was cool still, so just tried to stay warm!

Comments:

I think that the course was more difficult this year. It was more hilly and definitely hotter. I was sweating by the third mile! Given all that has been going on the past 4-5 months, I was incredibly happy with my race. I had expected a much slower time. This is a fun race, with tons of fans cheering and screaming! There were lots of bands playing along the course, some better than others! Overall, it was a fun time!
What would you do differently?:

Train more and weigh less!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

With my plantar fasciitis, I didn't run at all for a month and my volume was way down after that. I wasn't able to do any speed work or hills. I am also about 10 pounds heavier than last year. But, life happens and I tried to make the best of what the situation is.

Event comments:

The finish line area was a zoo. It was in a new location this year. I stood around trying to get out of the finish area for a while, but could not move because there were so many racers, and spectators were clogging the exit area.
