Pre-race routine:

Hectic-up early since I hadn't per-registered I wanted to have time for that. Card was declined at the ATM machine, surprise!, ran to the car-transfer funds and finally get the cash. Managed to get some light jogging in and fuss with my smart phone running app, never did make it work
Event warmup:

Just some jogging and brief strides. I could tell I was still a bit sore from yesterday's 40 mile bike ride

First race of 2012 and first hardware of the year so I cannot complain. First in my AG was a full 9 minutes faster, I could have gained 4 or 5 overall places and still been 2nd, that's the way it goes
What would you do differently?:

I wanted to do well but hadn't made this race a priority, if I were to target it I would taper for it and not trash myself on the bike the day before.I need to pace myself better-based on my splits I was all over the place, I can identify the hilly part of the course from the times though. I wished the run app/GPS had worked, the pace feed back might have helped

Warm down:

Mostly try to stay warm, I was soaked with sweat and cooling fast in the wind and light drizzle that started

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Some leg fatigue

Event comments:

They do a nice job with a series of events all year. You won't find all the glamor of a big event but they are organized, friendly and fun to participate in
