Swim
Comments: Had trouble with my goggles. when I dolphin dived into the water at the beginning my left goggle started leaking water. I tried to fix it about 4 times before I finally had to tread water and get my goggles off from under my swim cap and put them back on. The back half of the swim loop was so shallow I had to get up and walk in a couple spots (my hands were digging into the sand). The rest of the swim was probably my best yet. What would you do differently?: From now on, I believe I will put the goggle strap over my swim cap. Transition 1
Comments: They messed up the T1 timing. It is added to the bike. Point to point course meant you had to load stuff into bags before leaving transition, adding time to T1. Bike
Comments: Was actually closer to a 19.6 average (subtracting the transition). This was my best ride yet but the swim continues to be my weak point. Got stuck behind cars in the first 9 miles. This was very frustrating and slowed me down (it even caused one guy I saw to crash). What would you do differently?: Get better at the bike. Just need to get more time in the saddle. Transition 2
Comments: This was a complete cluster. At some point, I lost a water bottle after dismounting. I had to leave my stuff at the transition overnight. I was soaking wet and I had trouble getting my socks on. I almost forgot my watch for a second race in a row. I also wsan't thinking and put my sunglasses back on (though I actually liked running in them). What would you do differently?: I need to practice this transition more, I keep having issues only on T2. Run
Comments: First time running without IT band issues in more than a month. I felt so good the first mile was about 7:40 and I paid for it in the last two miles. The sun also came out and it started getting very hot. Had some cramping issues in the last mile. What would you do differently?: Get back to a solid run schedule. This is my strength. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a while. Waited for nearly two hours before they announced they wouldn't be able to get the results. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training due to injury. The point to point course slowed my transitions. Event comments: Kept everyone around for almost 2 hours before cancelling the awards ceremony due to progblems with the results. They blamed it on the number of penalties but later that night said it was a computer glitch. T1 times were also screwed up. On the course it was great but timing issues were a huge negative. This was my first Olympic race ever and I really wanted to find out if I broke 3 hours. Last updated: 2012-01-24 12:00 AM

Was at the Ohio Valley Emmy awards the night before. We did not get back home until about three in the morning. Had to compete on one hour of sleep.
Yawning, I felt so dead. I did a quick warmup swim.
