Run
Comments: Did a 40:30 a couple weeks ago, and tried to nail sub-40 this time. But I'm 7 lbs up over last time, and paid for it after going too hard on the big hill. First 5k split was 19:45 which looked good. But massive cramp in the right side after the halfway, so slowed down a bit for 6-9k. I think a lot of it was bloat/water or something because 2 days later I was 6 lbs down. What would you do differently?: Not let the weight creep up. I'm back on livestrong, and things already seem better controlled. Should be able to pull it together for a sub 1:30 in 3 weeks. Post race
Warm down: Nice buffet breakfast, ham, waffles, beef sausages. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight, less intensity. HM in 3 weeks is my main race this early on. Will run another 10K 2 weeks later and I expect to break 40. Event comments: Always a good race with the best prizes around. 1000 dollar trip among others just as door prizes. Also attracts the local fasties. Last updated: 2012-01-25 12:00 AM
