Event warmup:

Stretching, swam a few yards to loosen up.
Swim
  • 07m 59s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

Being my first tri, I didn't know how the start would go. It was a bit rough the first 100 yds, after that it went as expected.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

I didn't practice my transitions much, some work can be done here.
What would you do differently?:

Practice.
Bike
  • 44m 44s
  • 13.5 miles
  • 18.11 mile/hr
Comments:

Biking was better than normal for me, out was mostly uphill and headwind, back was much faster. Felt a few calf cramps so I knew I was in for a fun transition
What would you do differently?:

Get a faster bike & train on the bike much more, some folks were passing just simply flying.
Transition 2
  • 00m 39s
Comments:

Started getting some cramps, very quick transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 22m 53s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt like crap first 1/4 mile, calf cramps. Ran through and were gone by 1/2 mile in. Developed a good cadence and stride.
What would you do differently?:

Kicked up the speed at the end too soon. While driving the course I missed one loop off the main road that added about a 1/2 mile to what I thought was the finish. Imagine my surprise when I had a full mile and not a half mile left. Finished ok
Post race
Warm down:

Beer in the back yard 2 hours later.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramps. I have not had these in a long time. I always ran a mile or two after I bike train to help with this, I even ate two bananas before the race. I need to work on this issue.

Event comments:

My first tri, so I can't rank this well but it seemed really well run, I did not have to worry about anything besides what I was doing on the course. I had a great time, I will be back next year.
