Pre-race routine:

Very bad night sleeping. Woke up at 4:00. Got a little sleep between 5:45 and 6:30. Got up at 6:30, at a banana and two scrambled eggs with guacamole and coffee. Got dressed, drove 40 minutes to St. Paul. Got there about 45 minutes before race. Used porta-potty. Picked up packet inside lobby, checked wallet and keys. Went outside and got Garmin fired about 8:45. Went back inside but near window.
Event warmup:

Jumped around and shook arms.

  • 13.1 miles
  • 07m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

first two miles around streets of St. Paul. Then down to River Road (Shepard). Shepard was hillier than I remember.
What would you do differently?:

I was worried about being able to keep the pace into the headwind and blowing up later. I should have been more aggressive miles 3 through 7.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate the free stuff they gave. Stretched a little. Walked to car and drove home.

Event comments:

Please have the tops taken off the water bottles.
