Swim
Comments: Great swim, took about 1 minute off of last years time, just felt great the whole swim, sighted well, never felt panicky. What would you do differently?: Probably could have pushed harder. Transition 1
Comments: Not a bad transition for me, not one of my strong points. My chain came off at the mount line and it took me a minute to get it back on. What would you do differently?: Move a little faster! Bike
Comments: Felt great on the bike, was able to keep up my pace, I took 14+ minutes off my time from last year. Even the last stretch of road did not bother me too much, I was still able to keep my average speed up most of the time. What would you do differently?: Again I think my nutrition on the bike was not what it needed to be, as you will see by my run. I drank 2 full aero bottles of fluid, gatorade and water, and ate some fig newtons, 1/2 power bar and some pretzles. Transition 2
Comments: Average transition for me, I just try to be smooth and not make any stupid mistakes. What would you do differently?: maybe try to be a little faster while still being smooth. Run
Comments: Did I mention that I hated this run course. Perhaps I screwed myself from the start because I went into this whole race thinking that I would have a great race up to the run part, and I did. My run was 3 minutes slower than last years pitifull effort. What would you do differently?: I'm doing something wrong nutrition or hydration wise because I had to stop twice because I thought I was going to pass out, I started to grey out both times. I had a couple of jolly ranchers and ate one each time, but either I'm not eating enough or drinking enough on the bike I guess. I did more deal making and walking than I planned to. Post race
Warm down: Jumped in the lake, it took a while to feel right, felt like I was going to pass out for a while. What limited your ability to perform faster: My problems on the run, or nutrition on the bike. My plan was to run 9 minute miles, walk the water stops, I should have been able to do that, I've run more this year than last, trained harder. Event comments: What a great weekend, great weather, stayed there Saturday night and sat in a kayak for the sprint on Sunday, it was interesting watching the different levels of swimmers, got to chat with a few of them as they hung on for a rest. Got to meet EllesDad Saturday, who must have had a great race because he placed! Last updated: 2006-05-08 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30, ate my usuall PB bagel and had a bannana and coffee. Drove to the race with a friend of mine, it's only about 45 minutes.
No warmup, unless you count peeing at least 10 times!
