Run
Comments: Got a good position at the start line. I was on the 2nd row right behind the winner of our division. Right off the gun the first 10 racers seperated from the crowd. We were hitting around 23mph til we got to Mcaurthor Causeway. The causeway is the largest climb in the race, and it seperates the men from the boys. This time I was one of the boys. I got dropped of the lead group and never saw them again. Me and another guy worked together the rest of the race. The guy I was working with pulled more than i did for most of the race, so I laid back at the finish line and didn't try to sprint him or anything. I figured that would b kind of a dickhead move since we were running 7,8th place anyway. What would you do differently?: Bring my hydration system. I drank nothing during the entire race. I usually have an aerobottle mounted behind me with a straw routed to my mouth so I can hydrate during the race. I left it at home and had to tough it out with no water. Handcycling you cant get water at the aid station without gettng dropped. Post race
Warm down: Ate some Pollo Tropical and a Bannana after the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Dehydration Event comments: Good race, roads are kinda rough though. Last updated: 2012-02-03 12:00 AM

Usual early morning for wheelchair racers. Had to be in the lobby at 3:30 am to caravan to the race site. Downed a bagle and a couple bottles of water.
Arrived at race site around 4:30am. Hung out till around 5:30. The problem with large races is we get no room to warm up. At 5:30 the wheelchair racers started making it through the crowd to the start line where we would sit for another 30 minutes before the start of the race.
