![]() Swim
Comments: Overall a good swim. Started out hard-ish then settled to my rhythm. Wasn't really anyone around swimming my pace to draft off. I drafted at the start and closer towards the end. I was planning on a 14:00 swim, so the current helped a fair bit. What would you do differently?: Try to find someone to draft off the whole time. ![]() Transition 1
![]() Bike
Comments: 1 bottle gatorade. What would you do differently?: Haven't done too much cornering on my new tri-bike so I probably slowed more than I had to to make sure I didn't stack it. In hindsight still could have pushed a little bit harder, especially on the first lap. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Still not confident enough to jump of my bike too fast. Bike was still moving when I got off. What would you do differently?: Practice dismount. ![]() Run
Comments: Had pace zone alarm on for first lap keeping me in my planned Olympic race pace (4:57-5:20, so still ended up being faster). Pushed hard in the second lap, RPE 10/10 for last 1km. Weather not too hot so didn't need to drink much. 1 cup at first 2 aid stations, nil at 2nd two. ![]() Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. The fact that this was a C race and not a target and did not taper. Event comments: Race late again. Short course (300/10/3) was around 5-10mins late. Long course (750/20/5) was nearly 30 minutes late. It appeared there was still organizing being done right up to the last second. Too much leniency is given to late comers arriving as/after transition closes delaying the start. Last updated: 2012-02-03 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4, vitabrits for breakfast. Coffee and 1 water bottle in the car. Arrived 5:30ish to set up transition. Hung around for 2.5 hours until my wave started.
Short jog, stretches, a couple of short swim strokes in the water.
