Swim
Comments: Very similar to yesterday's swim. Except this time I went a little wider on the far side and had stand and dive a few times to get back to deeper water. Transition 1
Comments: tripped running up ramp. It happened right in front of the photographer also so I am sure he got a nice picture of me falling. Still had a little trouble getting wetsuit top off and bib straps down before I got to the wetsuit strippers. Once I got to my bike, it went smoothly and was able to run and hop on bike fairly well. Had a little trouble getting feet in and buckled once I got going though. I think I had this same issue last year as well. Could be fatigue setting in a little. Bike
Comments: Took it a little easier on downhill this time. Worried legs would be fatigued going up hill. Saw Randy on side of road on climb back. Looks like he had mechanical issues. I might have been able to push it a little harder. Total – 233W / 22.37 mph / 1.06 VI / 90 RPM First Half – 216W / 29.16 mph / 1.05 VI / 93 RPM Second Half – 242W / 18.15 mph / 1.06 VI / 88 rpm My bike split was actually exactly the same as last years so that was a little disappointing. I attribute most of it to lack of mental fortitude. I just didn't have the motivation to push it harder. Power dropped by 30 watts compared to yesterday's International though. Guessing mostly due to fatigue of a 3 day event. http://tpks.ws/GmFX Transition 2
Comments: Saw Clint in transition right as I arrived. Knew I needed a good run to stay in contention. Had a little trouble getting shoes on. But all in all, not bad for me. 10 seconds slower than yesterday. Run
Comments: What can I say. I am still not a good runner. I really need to work on this more this Fall/Winter. But that aside, I was still happy with my run. 1:15 faster than last years run and able to run negative splits (7:11, 7:08, 6:50). Post race
Warm down: Talked with Clint and a few others after the race. Headed back to hotel room to take a quick shower and check out and then headed back to town center for awards. Event comments: This is still one of my favorite events. But they really need to get the timing issues fixed. Lots of mistakes and had to delay awards several times while they tried to figure out what place everyone came in. Food is also not very good. Last updated: 2012-02-06 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5am. Took quick shower. Ate instant oatmeal, yogurt and coffee. Headed to race (by bike). Set up transition area and put on wetsuit. Talked with a bunch of people.
After racing the TT on Friday and International yesterday, it was hard to stay motivated. I was also pretty tired. Didnt really sleep for 2nd night in a row. This really takes a toll on the body and recovery.
Paddling the kids around on a paddle boat yesterday afternoon also didnt help. Had a big bruise on my back from the seat as well.
This is the final race of the Lord of the Flies event. I thought I was in 3rd or 4th for my AG going into this final event and I really wanted to make the podium for Lord of the Flies. I ended up in 4th and missed 3rd by 1:01:20.
Same as yesterday. Swam last half of swim course.
