Pre-race routine:

This was my wife and I's first 5k race together....actually this was my first ever straight run race. I have raced in Tris and a Duathlon but never just a run race. Woke up, showered and had some peanut butter and toast.
Event warmup:

Stretched a little bit and ran about a 1/4 mile to get the legs loose.

Comments:

I went out a little faster than I wanted to, looked down at my Garmin and my pace was at 5.55 a 1/2 mile into the race. I told myself to slow down a touch and settled into my pace. I didn't know if I could break the 20 minute mark and really pushed at the end to break 20.
What would you do differently?:

Not a whole lot, other than not start so fast.

Warm down:

Grabbed some water and waited for my wife to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to continue to train to bring my times down.
