Run
Comments: Nice and easy loop - pretty flat - all was well. During the mass start, I was in the middle and think that was a good place to be. What would you do differently?: My run felt pretty good - not sure what I would do different. Transition 1
Comments: Dip in the pavement in transition led to a puddle at the rear wheel of my bike. Started out with a good pace. Didn't go out too fast (for once!) What would you do differently?: Glad I brought my sunglasses to protect my eyes from the rain during the bike - but Left my sunglasses in my helmet for bike for transition. When I put the helmet and glasses on, they INSTANTLY fogged up.. next time, I will put on my shoes and helmet first, and glasses LAST. Hands were a bit cold, so putting on the bike shoes was a little slow. 1st time running in bike shoes and cleats.. it went okay.. Not completely comfortable with clipping in to the new cleats. Bike
Comments: Going out was tough. Slight incline with open fields lent to cross winds. Singing Whoosh of wind through the spokes.. Glad I brought sunglasses to protect my eyes, as it started to rain a bit. Was really cold and my hands got frozen. Gained 3mph when I went into aero position, but experienced some numbness in the saddle. I would get passed a bit on the up hills, but I POWERED down the hills (25-28mph) and was able to pass some people along the way. Was pleased with this bike. What would you do differently?: Scheduled for a bike fitting. I think my stem is too long. I really should have worn gloves - or SOMETHING to protect my finners. Transition 2
Comments: Fingers were cold.. I had a hard time turning the dials on my shoes to unbuckle them. What would you do differently?: Glad I ran in my bike shoes, and not dismount in socks.. the transition area started out with gravel and dirt.. :( Run
Comments: Short but steep-ish hill down early on. What would you do differently?: I stopped and took a sip of water at the turn-around. lost about 15 seconds and while it was really great to have a breather, I could have made up the time I lost trying to get my shoes on Post race
Warm down: Walk around a bit What limited your ability to perform faster: Cold hands. Event comments: Course was great fun! I enjoyed the turns through the park, and the scenic tree-covered trail for the second run. Last updated: 2012-02-21 12:00 AM

Got up, had a banana and a cliff bar and some fluids. Added a Hammer Gel 20 min before start time.
Set out my gear - worried too much about if I had everything.
Ran a little - out to the bridge and back.
