Run
Comments: This isn't a big race, but it's well attended by fast runners. The course, as previously mentioned, is very hilly and can be a challenge if you're not ready for it. There were 4 water stations this year and a single aid/gel station at mile 7ish. The first mile is mostly downhill, but the hills start soon thereafter. Spectators are not allowed on the course as much of it is run on private property. I probably looked a bit silly with a hydration belt, but I believe that with the hills and the lack of information given by the race organizers as to the location of the water stops, having the extra fluids paid off. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Trained on a lot of hills and it paid off. Post race
Warm down: Bagels & Gatorade. Yum What limited your ability to perform faster: Holding back early on and not knowing the extent of the hills. Event comments: Only volunteers seen were at water/aid stations, a couple patrolling course on Segways, and officers/park officials at intersections. Last updated: 2012-02-27 12:00 AM
