Run
Comments: Good run. I was shooting for a 7 minute pace for the race and I was able to hit it. The weather was cold so it was difficult to get warmed up prior to race start. As soon as the gun went off, I warmed right up. I was able to settle into a nice pace right away. My first mile was 6:45. I felt good and was able to stay close to that pace for the whole race. The long down hill at mile marker 5 helped a lot as I was started to fatigue during the last mile. What would you do differently?: I probably pushed a little too hard early in the race. My first and second mile was around 6:45. Don't need to go out that fast. I did not have any kick at all for the last quarter mile. I could see the finish line but I has zero juice in my legs to sprint to the finish. I was able to hold my pace...just could not go any faster. The next time I'll save a little bit earlier in the race so I have some kick at the end. Post race
Warm down: Nothing much. Walked around, drank water, etc. What limited your ability to perform faster: Went out too fast. Pick up the training. Event comments: Great race. Some nice down hills. Good race to set a PR. Last updated: 2012-02-27 12:00 AM
