Had a bowl of cereal then drove down to the race. Ate a gel about 30 minutes before the start.

Well controlled pace for the most part. Hit the bottom of the hill feeling pretty good and I used that to take over a bunch of people during the the climb. Kept a strong pace to the finish while saving enough for the run.

Ironman training doesn't really include sprint work, but I'm still happy with this result.

Event comments:

I always enjoy this event, run by a great group and for the size they have impressive post race food.
