Comments:

I was hoping to PR, but knew I hadn't properly trained for it. I placed 2nd AG in 2010, and 1st AG in 2011. This year I had hopes of placing in the Master's Division.

I took off hard and tried to hold on. I saw my pace fading and with it my hopes of a PR. Once I lost PR pace, I kind of lost heart to push as hard and slowed a bit. Towards the end of the race, a lady passed me and I suspected she was in my division. I tried to catch up but was unable to overtake her.

I won 1st place AG. The lady in front of me won 3rd Master's (with it comes money). I missed placing in the Master's Division by 5 seconds. I was VERY disappointed with myself for not pushing harder even after I lost PR pace. Very disappointed indeed.

1st place AG award is an original piece of art work. I have two others of these art works at home. This photo is with Maria Parker, the race founder and also multiple Guinness World Record holder for both speed and distance on a recumbent bike.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lazy training.

Event comments:

This was my very first race ever when I started running in 2009. I will do it year after year and LOVE it!
