Comments: Run went really well. Wasn't sure how I'd do before the race because I'd never run over 8.5 miles in a training run. Kept my HR around 150 for most of race and tried to keep my cadence up.m Running alongside someone at the same pace helped a lot. Mind over matter. Would like to get sub-1 HR next year. What would you do differently?: Run faster. No GU Gel without water beforehand. Learn how to drink water cups while running without making a mess. Post race

Showed up a bit later than I would have liked. Had a GU gel 15 min before race started but no water. Bad Call. Stomach was bothering me most of the race.
