Comments: Tried to save something for the hill and the headwinds on top. Turned the corner up to Garvin and thought "what the hell were you thinking." Sit, stand, sit, stand all the way up in my smallest gear. Slog through the flat on top, then killed the downhill, hit 50 and gave out a little yell. Got up to 51.4! What would you do differently?: compact crankset, bigger rings in back. Transition 2
Comments: Dropped my watch about 200 yards before the dismount line. Went back to get it. Put on arm coolers. What would you do differently?: See above, practice the arm coolers. Run
Comments: Wow, was I tired, HR was not matched up with my pace at all. Resorted to a run 4 walk 1 the last 3 miles and I think that helped. Tried giving high-fives to people that looked friendly and/or in need of a smile. What would you do differently?: See yesterday's race. Post race
Warm down: Ice water goodness. New Skin? on my blisters, water and gatorade. Back to ma's for a nap. What limited your ability to perform faster: Two races in two days, separated by a 3.5 hour drive. Seeing my kids on the bike course caused my eyes to leak a little. Event comments: Volunteers were great, sorry to the lady on top of Garvin if I was curt, and thanks for trying to give me another bottle.
