Comments: This was a training run but I wanted to see how i was going to race either way. I wanted to start out around 8/min miles and do negative splits but i after my first mile i was 8:15 i decided to do negative splits from there. I almost feel it would be best to just start out on the pace i want the average to be and try to sustain it because it can get hard trying to make up time. Around mile 10 i was still feeling good. However I started to get the worst charlie horses in both my calfs. I was locking up and I HAD to stop and stretch it out. This only got me about .25 miles until it happened again. Overall i had to pull over about 8 times to stretch. Since this was a training run i was not obsessed on time and I was just trying to do what my body needed. I wore CEP socks for the first time and i wonder i this had anything to do with it. I did stop my watch when i stretched because i was not racing and was more interested in my running time. However one time i started running again and looked at my watch and went about .6 miles without turning it back on. Soooooooooo i turned around and ran 0.3 miles back the other way and then turned around to rejoin the race again to make up the non clocked time. What would you do differently?: Start out faster pace Post race
Warm down: Watched rene finish marathlon then had crawfish boil at Billy's and had a couple beverages SUPER Sore the next day!!!!! jogged from tulane hospital parking garage to race site. Felt ok but not totally fresh from previous work out week
