Swim
Comments: Being in the water felt better than outside the water What would you do differently?: Learn how to navigate better. I was off course quite a bit which I bet cost me 4-5 minutes trying to swim back onto course. Transition 1
Comments: I should of forgone the socks and gloves for the short bike ride that it was. It was cold, the road going down the first hill was slippery. There were some of the athletes that chose to not follow the rules by passing on the right, passing in no passing zones, riding side by side. Though what can one really do with the course that jam packed due to the bike being cut short? What would you do differently?: Skipped the socks and the gloves for this one since the bike was that short. But I didn't know for certain what to really expect there. I also probably would of stripped off my front water bottle too though the little amount of weight prolly didn't matter. I also am thinking that I should of just worn the long sleeve shirt I spent the time putting on as it was wet right away. Or perhaps just not worn it in the first place. Bike
Comments: Bike was wet, windy, road slippery. People passed illegally quite a bit but guess it is what it is because of the weather conditions. I felt fast on the bike and I was faster than I expected which was good. What would you do differently?: No socks and either no long sleeve shirt or worn it on the swim. Also no gloves as I wasted valuable time putting them on for what reason. Transition 2
Comments: Took forever to change wet socks as my feet were frozen beyond belief. I couldn't stand to change. What would you do differently?: Not sure here as I feel I should not of worn the gloves, socks, and long sleeve shirt. Cost me time taking care of those things in T2 Run
Comments: Cramped on run. Maybe due to everything in my stomach that I had prepped for to be on the bike for 3 hours? What would you do differently?: Not sure here as i ran just as fast as I could to keep from cramping. Maybe I could of picked up the pace a little bit more on the turn around but I kept cramping and I was afraid of bonking. For me this was a slow half Post race
Warm down: Did nothing but walk around What limited your ability to perform faster: My swim was slow because I do not sight well, and my run was slow due to cramping which might of been because I was off the bike way sooner than I expected to be. Event comments: I might do this race again sometime but than again I might not because 4 of the 5 years I believe the weather has not been very good for that race so it makes me think that it would be better to find a different race to do.
