Run
Comments: I thought this was a tough day. I was very hot. I started intending to do 7:10 miles and then hopefully speed up. After four 7:10 miles, it just didn't feel right, so I decided if I could keep 7:15, I would break 1:35. Except for two miles, I was able to do this, so I think this was a good decision. I am proud of one thing. I know the 1:35 pacer and was talking to him before the race. At about mile 12 he caught me and told me not to let him pass. I made a joke about tripping him if he did, but instead dug deep and put in a 7:01 and a 7:05 mile at the end, with the last .18 at around a 6:30 pace. Since he was doing 7:15 miles, that basically explains the 23 seconds better than 1:35. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Post race
Warm down: Beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: heat. Hills. Event comments: Way overpriced. ($85?) Hoodie is hideous (hoodious?). Last updated: 2012-03-11 12:00 AM
