Total Time = 46m 25s
Overall Rank = 4/
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 1/
Pre-race routine:

Had my normal morning smoothie during the hour ride to Clinton. Had a Luna Smores before race to get a little more on my belly. Met up with some fellow Tri-Warriors and hung out.
Event warmup:

Got in the pool and swam about 200 yds, just before they called us OUTSIDE for a pre-race meeting!! Freezing!
Swim
  • 05m 13s
  • 250 yards
  • 02m 05s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

This transition went fine, I didn't leave my shoes on the pedals because there was a downhill right at the start and I didn't want to be fiddling with my shoes and therefore losing downhill power. Especially since I'm not that confident with that "move" yet.
Bike
  • 22m 23s
  • 7 miles
  • 18.76 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

I did my little flying dismount thing...that was fun! Had problen getting the backs of my shoes on, so that stalled me about 15 secs.
Run
  • 16m 40s
  • 2 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Wasn't sure how this run would go...had knee surgery in Jan. I couldn't find my lightweight knee support so I just went bare-knee, that felt weird. I did a modified low ground clearence run! It got me to the finish line, so that works for me.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with the Tri-Warriors!!! Cheered finishers and drank some water.
We stayed for awards and the proceeded to Ruby Tuesdays!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Knee surgery and my swimming kinda sucks.

Event comments:

I love this little race, it's low key and fun. Fs Series did a great job, and the volunteers were cheery and awesome.

What can I say, I wanted to be under 2min/100yds for this swim, but it wasn't in the cards. A couple a young, tall guys were on my tail right out of the gate, so I let them pass in the 2nd lane, but Nooooo! these kids were stopping in front of me and walking beside each other! But then they would start swimming again, with the snake pattern I just couldn't get around until the last 25 yds... I used the ladder to the right which saved me some time.
