Pre-race routine:

Got up at 6:30 and had white toast with honey on it and some white tea. Picked up Eric and then went to the race and met up with Eddie who gave me a run down of the course.
Event warmup:

Warmed up nice and slow for ~10min, which is when I realized that apparently my heart rate monitor no longer fits (kept falling down) and I decided to ditch it for the race.

Comments:

Happy with my time. Didn't taper or train for this race, and based off the little speedwork from IM training, I did slightly better than I expected. Started off what I thought was nice and slow and got comfortable. First 10k mile split was 7:49, last 5k was 7:53, so got some nice even splits.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate a little better, had trouble getting to the first few aid stations because there were so many people around. Probably try not to spill gatorade all down myself, haha.
Post race
Warm down:

Ran around for 5-10min, mostly looking for a friend who I couldn't find. Then after awards biked an easy hour on the trainer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably no taper and not really training for this race (just did it to see where I was at training wise).

Event comments:

Impressed by how quick the awards were!

Performance: Good
Course: Hilly! Three large hills at least. First one was not bad after the downhill start, but the second hill was large and kept going after the turn. Had to use comparing it to the Whiteface race to put the hills in perspective, so after that they didn't seem so bad.
