Swim
What would you do differently?: This was my best OWS to date. I was pushing for 42 minutes and made it. I swam the majority of the swim with a pack of us and stayed aware of not settling for a slower pace. Navigation was good and I did good of staying relaxed throughout. Transition 1
Comments: Practice makes perfect and no practice = sucks! I always practice before short events but never before the 1/2 and it showed today. I'm thinking too much, just do it!!!!! What would you do differently?: Remove my head from my butt and get moving....tick,tick,tick!!! Bike
Comments: With 10-14 miles left is where this race went from my best yet, to my worst yet!I started getting too much air in my stomach and couldn't consume any calories. My stomach was on major lockdown, like never before! What would you do differently?: I need to learn to be a sipper and not a guzzler. Transition 2
Comments: Same lame story as T2 What would you do differently?: everything..I guess:) Run
Comments: Even though I wasn't feeling well, my 1st loop was good for me(less than an hr). I was around 57 and 1/2 min for the 1st loop. I knew I needed to get some calories in me. 10oz. of water for the whole run segment might be pushing it at an estimate and no gels. I just flat ran out of energy around mile 10...once I got to mile 11 i started walking. !st time ever!!! I broke my no run unless I'm injured rule!! Oh well, this race was still a PR for me by over 3.5 minutes, so it ain't all bad!!! I'm not gonna beat myself up over this, it just sucked. I felt I nailed my swim, bike and the 1st loop of the run. I could smell a sub 6 easily and it is in within my capabilities without me lying to myself. It just didn't happen today!!!! I spent all winter working on my run base and I really was doubting my bike going into this and due to GI issues, it just wasn't to be. I feel if I can have my worst race yet, still PR by 3.5 minutes...I'll take it without damaging my confidence. Most adversity I faced before has been fitness related. Felt my base bailed me out of this turning into a 6.5 hr day.... What would you do differently?: Haha! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: GI issues Event comments: As always, a great race from Red Rock! Last updated: 2012-03-13 12:00 AM

Stayed up in a motel on University, made for a less stress morning. Got up and had a bowl of grape nuts. Caught a cab to TTL and let everyone sleep in.
