Run
Comments: Felt good to start, but could feel things going downhill around mile 5. A tough climb around mile 6/7 that I walked. Temps were cool to start and I wore shorts, a tank and arm warmers. Within the first few miles, I was overheating and couldn't cool off, even after taking the arm warmers off. Second half was mentally tough. Walked hills that I probably didn't need to. Breathing was difficult on the hills though. Stomach was ok - not great. Could feel right hip and left foot (pre Coz injury) around mile 8 to the end. Took a GU before the race and then 2 more (miles 4 and 8). Was sweating a ton and couldn't cool off. Drank gatorade to try to get back some electrolytes. Overall, a really tough run. What would you do differently?: Not quite sure. Should have had a better run. Post race
Warm down: Walked back to the car to meet up with Tom and get on the road. Event comments: Well run race. Tom got my packet the day before. It was easy to get in/out of. The corrals were well organized and they spaced them out so not everyone started in a huge pack at once. Bonus I had a free entry from GU. Last updated: 2012-03-16 12:00 AM

Drove to Tom's place in the AM so we could carpool together. Got to RFK very early to avoid road closures and sat in the car contemplating breakfast over racing. :)
Short jog to the corrals and then waiting around in our respective corrals for the race to start.
