Pre-race routine:

Heat wasn't until 3:15pm so normal Sat, taking daughter to Dance/Gymnastics, then off on the 1.5 hr drive to Vulcan. Ate some Wendy's at about 11:30

Only swam a couple times since Sept, so pretty pleased. Got the closest lane to the exit, which isn't very fair to everyone else, should start on the other side IMO.

Only biked to work a few times since Sept, so wasn't expecting much. Put all my race gear (cover, 404 front, vit corsa tires/latex, aero helmet) to make sure I beat a few co-workers on the bike. :)

Took a full flat repair kit, but no fluids as I thought there'd be a water station at the turn around. There was not. Oh well - I keep a bottle in Trans.


What would you do differently?:

Maybe bring a bottle on the aerobars.

Ran a 5k race last week in 19, so pretty happy I was only a minute and change shorter - but without any bricks it was pretty painful.

Warm down:

Bit of gator, bit of water and some apples. Gave the pancake to my daughter


What limited your ability to perform faster:

Have really only been run focused this season

Event comments:

A good little race, especially for families - will put my daughter in the kid-bit race next year for sure.
