Bagel and coffee at the hotel. Arrived at race site at 6:50. Set up transition and socialized.
Event warmup:

12 minutes on bike with 30 sec pick ups. 8 minute run with 15 sec pick ups. 400 swim easy.

So, there was a huge puddle going into T1. I went right into it and discovered that it was very slippery! I busted my tail pretty hard. Road rash on my arm, back and hip. DOH!

Not a good T2. My in-sole was a bit bunched from the warm-up and wasn't straightened out before race time. I spent a few extra seconds getting it straight.

Good run! PR 5K time in a tri! I had a cramp in my calf that started on the bike so I shortened my stride and increased the cadence like crazy. I kept picking out people to chase and then opened up at the very end and poured everything out. I don't think I had anything left to give but wonder if I could have pushed more on the bike.

Parris Island is one of my favorites in the GTS SCTS! I love the atmosphere with the Marines and the start of the season. This is a family weekend for us and we enjoy the food and visit to historic Beaufort, SC!
