Run
Comments: Almost six minutes faster than 2008! That's the good news! This race went really smooth. I felt like I started off a bit fast, but I never really paid for it. The weather conditions were perfect. I felt nice and cool the entire race. The hills in the park weren't as bad as I remembered them to be. I had a brief mental letdown when I discovered there wasn't any food at the Mile 6 aid station (I really could have used a gu around then) but they had some oranges somewhere after Mile 7 and that was enough. Smoked the last mile which of course means I needed to go faster earlier. What would you do differently?: Surprise! Train more! Post race
Warm down: Met up with Andrea and then sat around waiting 10 long minutes for Andy. Waited for the inevitable knee problem to set in. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really. Event comments: My only wish would be some gel packs out there cause I really like that sugar hit after I've been out there an hour or so. Last updated: 2012-03-18 12:00 AM

Drove down to Louisville the night before with Andrea. We stayed with Andy and his wife. Got to sleep fairly early and it was nice not worrying about a baby monitor going off.
I had a piece of pumpkin bread and carried a bottle of water with me to the start. Andrea hung out with Andy and I and snapped a few pictures before the race started. It was nice to be on time for the race (as compared to the last time I did this race in 2008 ...)
