Swim
Comments: Started at the front of the wave, and glad I did. Clear water for the first 300m until I caught the previous wave. Two others (in wetsuits) in my wave kept pace with me. Rounding the first bouy good. 2nd bouy felt longer than it was. Good finish, though started to get crowded, so speed was compromised by positioning. Overall 35 seconds faster than 2010. What would you do differently?: Train, train, train. Hold my top gear longer. Maybe seed higher to give me more drafting possibility. Transition 1
Comments: No wetsuit, so easy transition. Helmet on and number on quickly. Shoes clipped into bike. Slight pause to get the mud off my feet before the ride. No socks. Ran bike to line, another wipe of the mud on the pavement and stationary start. Strapped feet into shoes ~0.1m in by the hotel parking lot. Went smooth. Remember to stay to the side. What would you do differently?: Great T1! 3rd in Age group. 4th fastest T1 overall. Bike
Comments: Good Ride, much faster than 2010 on the hybrid. Felt strong. Hung with a pack of other riders for most of the ride. Didn't lose much ground, if any. Cornering went well. Hammered it home, no mercy for those letting up the last mile. What would you do differently?: Keep practicing hills and sprinting. Not much more I can do on my 15 yr old aluminum road bike. It's fun keeping up with guys on carbon bikes. Transition 2
Comments: Went well and quick for lacing up with standard laces. What would you do differently?: Good T2 Run
Comments: Run felt good. Took about 2 miles to hit my stride and get the rubber out. Could have pushed it harder at the end. Post race
Warm down: Walked it off, grabbed some fruit, water, and settled down. Event comments: Awesome race for the money and community of athletes. Last updated: 2012-03-19 12:00 AM

Stayed at Chris's house, 1 mile from race site. Slept well. Got up @ 5:05, ate 2 scrambled eggs and jelly toast. Arrived at race site about 5:50. Transition was pretty full, and little space was to be had. Get there earlier next time.
Jumped in for about 150m during open swim. Stood on shore, visualized, prayed. Ready to roll.
