Swim
Comments: Despite a small wave, found myself trying to find clean water to get in rhythm, as I kept bumping people in front of me. However, midway through the swim I was falling behind. Not a great swim. What would you do differently?: Train harder, start slowly Transition 1
Comments: Being my second tri, I have not been paying enough attention to transitions. Leaving a lot of time in them. Also being so winded from the swim forces me to take it easy. What would you do differently?: Practice transition Bike
Comments: There was a semi-long run from timing mats to mount/dismount line that affected speed calculations, especially for a 5 mile ride. My Garmin says that excluding the runs, I kept 18.4 mph, so happy with that, especially on a very wet course. What would you do differently?: On a 5 miler I should have pushed harder - I basically kept my 10 mile mindset during the race Transition 2
Comments: Same as T1. What would you do differently?: Practice Run
Comments: After my first tri run, where I could barely hold a 10:30 pace, this run felt good. Was ab;e to keep constant 9:20-9:30 pace throughout. But not much left for a final push. Still need to learn how to push harder at the end. Had issues with the Garmin multi sport mode, as it didn't auto switch to run for some reason. What would you do differently?: Learn how to use the Garmin Post race
Warm down: PODIUM! 3rd place on my cat. Only 4 people in my category, but organizer said that due to weather, about 50% of racers did not show up. I can only race against the people who show up. Event comments: Rain made organization difficult. I think organizers did an amazing job at keeping track of the weather and realizing they had a 1-2 hr window beginning at 7 am (thus the shorter bike segment). The rain made it a little chaotic, as we did not know if there was going to be a race to begin with. Last updated: 2012-03-21 12:00 AM

Got to the race site and it was raining hard, with thunder and lightning. Waited until last moment to set up transition. Rain stopped before race start, but organizers cut the bike from 10 to 5 miles.
