Total Time = 2h 05m 3s
Overall Rank = 66/68
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 5/5
Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5 and had a rice cake with PB at the hotel. Had plenty of sleep the night before, so I felt well rested! I wasn't that nervous which is a rarity!!
Event warmup:

Got into the wetsuit and swam some since I had never used it. Felt pretty good and didn't think I was going to have any issues!
Swim
  • 36m 43s
  • 750 meters
  • 04m 54s / 100 meters
Comments:

Having never swam in a wetsuit, I had no idea what to expect. It wasn't good! I got really, really hot right off the bat. My chest was constricted and just didn't feel like I could breath. I wound up doggie paddling a majority of the course!! Thankfully there was a really nice lady in a kayak that played my personal support crew!!
What would you do differently?:

Practice open water swimming A LOT more and either get used to the wetsuit or not use one!
Transition 1
  • 03m 10s
Comments:

Was really tired from the swim, so I took my time to let my heart rate settle some!
What would you do differently?:

Have a better swim and practice T1 more!
Bike
  • 47m 49s
  • 13 miles
  • 16.31 mile/hr
Comments:

The ride was about what I expected. There was some wind that slowed me down quit a bit and I was still really tired from the swim, but overall it was an ok ride.
What would you do differently?:

Ride more and get faster!
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Took my time and got some water.
What would you do differently?:

Learn to drink better on the bike
Run
  • 36m 13s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

Way slower than I had hoped. I think the swim just wore me out, I just couldn't seem to get a comfortable pace going!
What would you do differently?:

Get better at the swim and run more!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, stretched and had the coco-cola I was craving for the last half mile of the run!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training!

Event comments:

FS Series put on another great weekend of races! Their races are always extremely organized and tons of fun!! Looking forward to next year!!
