Run
Comments: Probably began at a 10k race pace or faster. Should have taken it easier. Nonetheless I didn't blow up. pace as measured in minutes per mile are meaningless in a situation like this. One thing I did that was very smart is that I maintained my effort level up hills...never tried to maintain speed. That left me fresh at the tops of the hills and I did all of my passing and gap-building on others during the down hills. What would you do differently?: Start slower than goal race pace and try to build throughout. Post race
Warm down: Walking/milling around What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: Trail running brings out a different breed. Especially when the distance is 15k. Seems like only experienced runners and trail specialists show up for a race like this. My daughter mentioned that she didn't have enough people behind her to feel good! But no, she wasn't anywhere near last. Last updated: 2012-03-26 12:00 AM

Snacked a little sipped some water. Got to race site 1.5 hrs before start and walked around socializing until 30 minutes prior to start.
Warm-up jog just under a mile on the trail. Just a couple of faster efforts on the road near the starting line. Kept moving until the start.
