Run
Comments: Hit the bottom of the hill and glanced at my watch, sub 6 pace was way too fast. Found some people going my pace near the one mile mark and felt good coming in. What would you do differently?: Not go out so fast, not saying I should start at goal pace, because I always start out faster than that. But I can aim for closer to goal pace. Transition 1
Comments: No idea on time, I think here is where I hit the wrong button on my watch, which is easy to do with big gloves on. Shoes went on surprisingly easy with the gloves, got my running shoes quickly set for T2. What would you do differently?: Put my shoes in a plastic bag to stay dryish. Bike
Comments: Finally got my wish of coming back with a tailwind. Got passed by someone about mile 3 and stayed near him, not drafting just using his pace, until mile 9 when he pulled away. What would you do differently?: My feet got cold and went numb on the bike, I don't know how to fix that without shoe covers, and I'm not taking the time to wear them. Transition 2
Comments: Again, no idea on the time, but I think it was fast, and its hard to take your shoes off on the bike while wearing wet gloves. I like the new speed laces I have this season, not Yanks. What would you do differently?: Leave the clear glasses. Run
Comments: Cold. Cold. Cold. The feeling in my feet came back near the turnaround, and I enjoyed that feeling so much I got passed by 3 or 4 people here. I think my gloves were water logged and keeping my hands cold on the run. What would you do differently?: Not do a hard track workout on the Thursday before the race. Post race
Warm down: Short stretch near the car after chatting with Carl. Too cold for a proper routine. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not mentally ready to push hard yet this year. My run times were slower, bike time was faster, and I think my T times must have been faster to post a PB for me at this race, but still not in the top 50% of my AG. Event comments: The timing guy is a friend of mine, so I don't like to criticize, but c'mon man, get the spilts right. Normally I don't rely on them, but I hit the wrong button on my watch because of my gloves and screwed mine up. Adding up my times of their splits doesn't equal my overall time, which I got from the clock at the finish line/some figuring of the times on my watch. The splits of the finisher two spots ahead of me, add up to a slower time than mine do. Last updated: 2012-03-27 12:00 AM

I forgot we didn't have any race day breakfast food in the house, oh well, didn't eat.
Put together a huge pile of clothes that I thought I might want to wear, got dressed in what I thought would be comfortable to race in and put the rest in my bag.
Set up transition and ran about a mile with some strides.
