Swim
Comments: good swim...happy with it. wetsuit and current made it blazing fast! What would you do differently?: could have maybe pushed it harder but it was pretty fast without swimming hard. Transition 1
Comments: There is a long chute from swim exit to T1 and trans area is huge so all T1 times were long. Actual trans time was good. What would you do differently?: not much Bike
Comments: I paced the bike out for the first 20 miles, avg around 18.2 mph. I then had a mech issue develop...my left aero bar came loose and twisted so that I couldn't put my elbow in the pad. I rode ~ 5 miles until I couldn't stand it and then stopped to torque it back down. This added about a 5 min chunk to my bike split. I then hopped back on and proceeded to ride at a hard pace and avg about 19.5 on that portion. What would you do differently?: Make damn sure my aero bars are tightened down. Transition 2
Comments: Had to stop at porto potty to pee...no place to pee while out on bike! Run
Comments: had a little sprinkle of rain on the run and the people, OMG, everywhere were amazing! Had a little hamstring cramp creep in on me about mile 10 or 11 that made it tough to run as hard as I wanted to but still happy with my time. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: bike mech, bike training Event comments: This is an awesome race! I will definitely do it again! Last updated: 2012-03-28 12:00 AM
