![]() Swim
Comments: Great swim, and I was so happy to be out of the water. What would you do differently?: I think if I could do anything differently it would be to practice flip-turns, and passing people. I passed a girl and I had a really tough time doing so. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I really didn't want to forget anything so I took some extra time in the transition to double check. I think it was a great idea for this distance just to wear my running shoes while on the bike. What would you do differently?: I wouldn't have double checked. I planned everything and I know I wouldn't have forgotten anything. It probably would have saved 30 seconds. ![]() Bike
Comments: I enjoyed this portion of the race. I had been so focused on the swim that I didn't have time to think about the bike or the run so I just went out and did it. Passed tons of people and I only get passed by two. All in all very pleased. What would you do differently?: If I would do anything differently I would probably have gone to an easier gear at the end for some of the hills. I may have been a little optimistic on some of them with my gear selection. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Again, I think wearing my running shoes on the bike helped me on this one. What would you do differently?: Nothing, this was a great transition. ![]() Run
Comments: I cant describe how happy I was with this run. I could barely feel my legs so I though I was going SLOW! The course was a little difficult, but my race went well. What would you do differently?: I would probably drink a little more next time. I probably need to practice drinking while running a bit. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Nothing, just kept walking after the finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: If anything, I would say the wind on the bike was the biggest limiting factor. Event comments: Plenty of volunteers, and a great venue. The running course was a little interesting but all in all a great race. Last updated: 2012-03-28 12:00 AM

Had to wake up at 3:00 to drive from Raleigh to Huntersville. Other than that drank lots of liquids, and had a Gatorade G1. First triathlon so I took extra time setting up my Transition area.
No warm-up. So new to swimming, I didn't want my times to suffer.
