Swim
Comments: Nice swim in the same great location. I was one person behind the break so when I passed her I didn't have to worry about passing anyone else. I think I put some big time time between me and the next person leaving the pool. What would you do differently?: Work more on my swimming. I am becoming a better swimmer but I need to be coached a bit. Transition 1
Comments: I don't have cycling shoes yet so I ride in my running shoes. Need to practice this transition more because I find myself standing there making sure I don't forget anything. What would you do differently?: Might try to go at biking and running without the socks. Bike
Comments: Need to work on staying in lower gears with higher RPM to give my legs a break. I feel like I'm hammering to hard while I ride. What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike and try easier gears. Work on the dismount. Transition 2
Comments: I dont really have to worry about a whole lot here. Grab some water and a snack, grab my number and my hat and I'm off. What would you do differently?: Not very much I would do differently. Run
Comments: I didn't feel good for this run. It was getting hot and I could tell that I didn't drink anything on the bike. I was exhausted at the end but a lady came from behind at the end and we sprinted it out. Without her my time would have been much worse. Thank You! I definitely like the timing mat at the half way point. I have to say I'm still proud of this run time. Its not a PR but it is better than I usually run. What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and grabbed some water and a couple oranges. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat on the run and not enough liquids on the bike. The biggest factor is my newness to the sport. I am getting better! Event comments: Im relatively new to racing so I cant say much, but generally I have been impressed with the job that Benji and the IOSTS does with these events. Thanks to everyone involved. Had to wake up extremely early to make it from Raleigh to Charlotte again. Got there 2 hours early and set up transition. After that was done I hung out with my girlfriend and her dog. It was a nice relaxing experience.
No warm up. Just like last time, I didn't want to exhaust myself. I think for my next race however I'm going to do some swimming and running beforehand.
