Swim
Comments: I need to learn to swim with group of people, i was trying to keep my calm for the distance i will go, but was alone and passed by later swim waves. Went off the course several time that i have even been warned by people on kayaks. What would you do differently?: Go with the group to use drafting. It iis very energy efficient swim but just not fast at least not even average. Transition 1
Comments: I smashed my previous transition of whopping 8 mins down to 3 mins. I was pleased with smoothness of the transition. Wetsuit down upto strippers and the pulled the legs off and hand it to me, and jogged to the bike. What would you do differently?: I may try my shoes on the bike without the socks next time. Bike
Comments: Knowing every 0.1mph average was 1-2 minutes in average shave from the total time, i tried to keep it as much as possible to 22mph. With the winds going out, was able to keep it on the aerobars as much as possible, averaged 20.7mph, hoping that i will compansate on the way back with tailwind. Tail wind was more of a crosswind that didnt help as much as i thought it would. Passed lots of good swimmers and slow riders in my age group, if i had better swim i could have come in good place with swim and bike total. What would you do differently?: Keep the high cadence but stronger gear for better speed. Might have considered better wheels. Transition 2
Comments: Again this was much better transition from my previous IM. Might consider running without socks as i get so sweaty and dump lot of water at station. What would you do differently?: Try ice packs on core, dont get a big hand bottle it is difficult to carry and hassle not to spill. Run
Comments: Change the trisuit, have cooler open front tritop for stacking up the ice cold sponges. It is difficult to tuck in the sponges. Do harder and longer brick pff the bike, 5 miles i was able to keep my goal pac of 8:10s, but then slowed down for some reason down to 9mins. Tried keeping at least below 9 mins but heat was killer, my heart rate average 172 on the run which is crazy high for a strong finish. Last mile was a disaster, i felt my blood pressure screwed up on my whole body, almost needed to walk or stop, but kept going, i wouldnt move i had stopped. What would you do differently?: Bricks, bricks, bricks... Post race
Warm down: Crashed almost at the end, laid down and got couple of bottle water in me over me... Was barely able to walk to eat somethings, had 4 slices pizza, coke, banana... What limited your ability to perform faster: My swim, my run. Event comments: This race is tough, although the course is not challenging, with flat bike, and run. The weather with high humidity of 90%, winds, and heat, it becomes a challenge in that way. I would doubt that i do this race again given the weather conditions. Humidity kills me anywhere. Salt water swim with some choppy waves on my breathing side was not helpful. Last updated: 2012-04-02 12:00 AM

Stayed in a home with my teammate 2-3 miles close to venue. Transportation wasnt a problem. We got there about 5:30, body marking went smooth, head in to my spot flawless with my transition bag. Had a larabar, with my pre race drink. Tried to keep hydrated with a bottle next to me the whole time till the swim start. Went to the swim start with my mate, his wave start was 7:30, mine was 7:55. We were pretty much there ready at 7:00, as the transition area closed 6:45.
No warm up, some strecthes on shoulders and restroom stop helped to get me ready.
