Comments:

i took the first half mile out a little hard. I thought i might be able to hang onto the feet of the lead pack. they were a little to fast for me, for my current fitness level.

About half way i was all by myself. I got a little bored and a little warm. I cant believe i am saying that about lake superior. My mind started to wander, then another swimmer attempted to pass me. I used him to sight off of the rest of the way in. I was able to regain my focus and beat him to the finish.

It was a challenge to not fall over when i stood up to get to the timing pad.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. I really have not swam more than a couple 1000 per workout in a while.

Event comments:

It was AMAZING how many volunteers they had. And the amount of kayaks made the course relatively easy to swim through

I will do it again, especially if i am in beeter swim shape
