Swim
Comments: The huge freaking timing chip they use came off in T1, and I managed to forget to trip my watch at the various intervals, so my splits are going to be guesses, except for the run. Got my split for the swim, second in the AG, pretty damn good. Moral of the story: practice removing your wetsuit so it takes no longer than 5-10 extra seconds and always wear it if it's legal. What would you do differently?: This was a very well executed swim for me. Pace was just about right. I pushed it without totally destroying myself. Transition 1
Comments: Same comments as last year about the timing chip they used. Time is, like all the others, a guess. Bike
Comments: AP: 211 Seems slower than it should have been Transition 2
Comments: Uneventful T2. Run
Comments: Good run. Might have been able to push harder overall than I did. I did hold someone off over the last few hundred meters, though. Heard him coming and I just kept kicking. Post race
Warm down: Massage, ice cream, beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: The focus on marathon training. Event comments: High Five always does a good job. The race started 30 minutes late, but that was because of lightning in the area, not lack of organization. They kept everyone safe, but got the full race off. Last updated: 2012-04-05 12:00 AM

Standard race morning fare of cinnamon waffles. Got a little later start out to the race site than usual. Between the wind, lightning, and rain, I was pretty convinced that the race was not going to happen. At best, I figured it would be a run only. They pushed the start back 30 minutes and the race went off as planned.
Not a bit.
