Pre-race routine:

At a cliff bar and drank a Starbucks drink as a light breakfast.
Event warmup:

Jogged about 10 mins before realizing I needed to get in the pool some before the race started. Then I noticed my goggles leaked...I left my racing goggles at home, and the ones I picked up the day before were apparently pretty bad. Spent the rest of the time trying to tighten them to reduce the leaking to no avail.

Comments:

With the leaking goggles, I knew I was in for the roughest swim ever. I kept trying to let water out instead of saying "screw it" and taking them off. Did ok all things considered.
What would you do differently?:

Not trying out the goggles was a rookie mistake, and I paid for it. You live and you learn.

Nothing. I think I've got T1 down.

I love the bike leg, and I probably push too hard on this leg, but I can't help it. I just like going fast.
What would you do differently?:

I need to work on my cornering on my TT bike better. The little crit like course we went through before the Hwy really allowed people in the overall bracket to build time on me.

Would have been a much faster T2, but I also threw on a State Road Jersey at this point, since I was about to run a 5k through the grove.
What would you do differently?:

Outside of taken time out to put on the jersey, this would have been a solid T2.

Didn't get close to my open 5k time (19:01) at all. I didn't feel winded coming out of T2, but I just couldn't get my legs going quickly enough. I also got really hot and had to fight spilling my guts and failing towards the end.
What would you do differently?:

I need to do more bricks in training. I can bike, and I can run, but I need to be able to tie the two together.
Post race
Warm down:

Did a jog with some of my training partners before rehydrating. I felt pretty awful after I crossed the finish line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I put a lot of mental pressure on myself for this race. I know I'm being hard on myself for someone who won their AG, but I'm just ready to make the jump to competing for an overall podium. For now I'll take what I learned from this race as I prepare for Memphis in May.

Event comments:

Having no post race food or drink kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. If I hadn't brought extra stuff to drink after the race, I would have been screwed while waiting for awards.
