Overall Rank = 20/79
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 7/15
Pre-race routine:

Ate a good breakfast as start was not until 10am
Event warmup:

Got in a mile run on the last part of the run course.
Swim
  • 16m 46s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

Horrible swim, suit was put on poorly plus I think I may need to size up. The shoulders felt like I was fighting the suit the whole time.
What would you do differently?:

put my suit on properly and/or get a new suit.....probably going sleeveless for my next one. Or I could have brought my shorty suit and used that.
Transition 1
  • 01m 39s
Comments:

Horrible transition too. I was sucking wind from the swim and needed to collect myself.
What would you do differently?:

have a better swim and not stress over it.
Bike
  • 1h 04m 51s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 9.71 mile/hr
Comments:

Took about a mile to get my rythm going, but then I just did my thing and had an ok ride. I rocked the technical downhill and even paced myself for a difficult run. I did start to get dehydrated near the end and took in all the GU Brew I had.
What would you do differently?:

hydrate better the day before.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

another slow transition, was almost out but had to turn around and grab my number belt.
What would you do differently?:

not forget to put on my race belt.
Run
  • 27m 19s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run even though I had to resort to walking on Tobbogan Hill. I came so close, 5 seconds, from catching he guy in front of me. I just ran out of course. A better swim, T1, or T2 would have made the difference. Oh well, next time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, good run for me after a challenging course and my fist Xterra of the year.
Post race
Warm down:

drink liquid, eat food, and stand in the water to relax. Oh yes, and the pushup contest before awards.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

1st tri of the season so it went OK.

Event comments:

Another awesome Xterra event. I love these things.
