Swim
Comments: I decided to try starting in the middle of the pack this time. That was a mistake. After the first few strokes I got hit in the goggles. For the first 100 yards it seemed like I got kicked or kicked someone constantly. After that, things settled down a little. I actually did lots of drafting since there were people all over the place. My sighting and rounding buoys were much improved. I felt better during the swim and swam all the way to the shoreline where some wonderful volunteers pulled me out. What would you do differently?: Keep practicing. Not start in the middle of the pack. Keep practicing. Improve technique. Transition 1
Comments: My transitions suck. I'm always a little foggy after swimming and then running back to transition. What would you do differently?: Practice the transitions and do more bricks. Bike
Comments: I saw some improvement on the bike. I felt stronger and faster on the hills. I had a good ride, especially with the possibility of wet roads. I encouraged a lot of people and they encouraged me. What would you do differently?: Keep training. Do more bike intervals and more hill work. Transition 2

Warm down: Walked around and grabbed some food and hydration. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough practice time in yet. Event comments: High Five puts on great races. Got up at 5:30. Had coffee, a bowl of oatmeal and a banana. Loaded the car and drove to the park. It rained on and off through the night and woke me up. Ended up to be a 30 min delay due to lightning and thunder.
Walked part of the run course. Used porta potty. Waited for swim to start after the delay. Watched some of the swim start. Did some light jogging and some high knees. Walked to the water to wait for my wave.
