Run
Comments: I was just using this as a training run. This was my second ever stand alone half marathon. I knew this one was going to be more challanging then the first one so I wasn't sure how I would make it. I just wanted to keep under 2 hours since that is what I did on my first one. My legs actually felt pretty good considering that I did a duathlon the day before so I ran 2 5k's. My pace I thought was great. I tried to stay constant the entire time. It was my best pace to date for that distance. What would you do differently?: If I was doing a stand alone half marathon I wouldn't do a duathlon the day before and I would push a little harder. Pick a warmer half marathon, both races started out with freezing temps. I would like to loose a little more weight so that would naturally make me a little faster. Post race
Warm down: Went in side and grabbed a banana and some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: doing a duathlon the day before and just not really wanting to push it too hard since I was just using it for a training run, trying to prep for LP Event comments: Thought it was a good race and it was put together nicely. Had a Blueberry muffin and got to the race early since I'm not a fan of parking downtown and knowing the best places to park so I parked at the normal garage that I park at and walk to the race start. It was another cold morning and I wasn't fully rested from the day before duathlon. I was stuffy all day yesterday. I wasn't sure how I would feel today. Was treting this race like a long run day since it was a long run day for me per my training.
Tried to just stay warm. Had so many layers of spandex on me that it still did't seem to matter. I knew once the sun came up I would be fine but it was just making it till then was the hard part since I was by myself so I could't wear my stay warm gear and strip it off right before the race.
